BURSTSen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) on Wednesday afternoon will give remarks after meeting with El Salvador Vice President Félix Ulloa about the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was mistakenly deported to the nation last month.
Van Hollen is one of several Democrats who have voiced their concern over the Trump administration's refusal to facilitate Abrego Garcia's return despite a Supreme Court order to do so.
White House officials have alleged that Abrego Garcia is a member of the MS-13 gang, which both he and his wife have denied. He had resided in the U.S. for more than 10 years after fleeing El Salvador due to threats of violence and persecution.
The event is scheduled to begin around 1:50 p.m. EDT.
