Some Metro Vancouver commuters may want to budget extra travel time Tuesday morning if they need to cross a bridge.

A traffic accident on the Alex Fraser Bridge has one southbound lane closed.

Drive B.C. says the collision happened on Highway 91 in the left lane between Annacis Channel Bridge and Exit 9 in New Westminster.

The left lane is closed and drivers are being told to expect major delays due to congestion. Northbound traffic is reduced to one lane.

The Pattullo Bridge remains closed until Friday.
