World Cup Canada vs. Switzerland Live: It's a battle for top of Group B in Vancouver

It’s Canada versus Switzerland today in a battle to see who will finish first place in Group B for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

As for what’s on the line? Everything and nothing, writes J.J. Adams.

A draw or a win means the team stays in Vancouver for the Round of 32 game, along with extra rest until July 2. The loser will head to Los Angeles to play a match this Saturday, and must be there two days early.

“Staying here in Vancouver is definitely our No. 1 goal,” said Canada coach Jesse Marsch. “I said this when I took the job. As soon as I found (the tournament format) out, I said, ‘OK, we have a clear objective, we want to win the group.

12 p.m.: Switzerland and Canada kick off in Vancouver

Switzerland versus Canada are set to face each other in a group stage match.

8 a.m.: The Last Mile fan zone opens to public

The Last Mile, a pedestrian-only corridor and fan zone for both ticket holders and non-ticket holders, opens four hours before kick off.

Doors to B.C. Place stadium will open today at 9 a.m., three hours before kick off.
