Search for missing 4-year-old boy in SA scaled back as police ask public not to call with ‘opinions’

Police say phone lines have been ‘inundated’ with calls about Gus and ask public to only contact them with ‘actual information’

Search efforts have been scaled back for a missing four-year-old boy after he disappeared from his family’s sheep station in the remote South Australian mid-north on Saturday afternoon, police say.

Assistant police commissioner Ian Parrott told a Friday afternoon press conference that the search for August Lamont, known as Gus, on the property near Yunta, about 300km north of Adelaide, had been scaled back.
