Australia’s foreign affairs minister, Penny Wong, has warned the failure of the international community to help form a two-state solution through ending the war in Gaza may mean there is no Palestinian state left to recognise, as Australia pushes for Israel to sign a ceasefire and urgently speed up the flow of aid.
Calling for a two-state solution and for Hamas to release the remaining 7 October hostages, Anthony Albanese used a call with the Palestinian Authority president, Mahmoud Abbas, to push for humanitarian aid to be allowed into the war zone.
