BURSTChilliwack-Cultus Lake MLA Á’a:líya Warbus announced Monday morning she is leaving the B.C. Conservative caucus, posting a scathing letter to social media detailing why she won’t work with new Leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay.
The final straw was Findlay’s cancellation of a planned caucus meeting scheduled for Monday in Richmond. Warbus said the decision reflected the “lack of value” Findlay placed on caucus members’ opinions.
“It is one thing to ask for people’s trust, and quite another to blindfold someone and expect faith alone to substitute for transparency and accountability,” Warbus wrote.
Warbus is the seventh MLA to leave the Conservative Party in less than a month, and the 14th since the 2024 election. This leaves just 30 of the 44 members elected as part of the party still in the caucus.
