Surrey police are investigating another extortion-related shooting at a residence in the Panorama Ridge neighbourhood early Thursday morning.
Police say shortly before 1 a.m., there were reports of a shooting in the 13400-block of 56th Avenue, not far from a fire and homicide earlier this week.
The residence and vehicle were damaged from gunfire but no one was injured, said Surrey Police Service.
Investigators believe the latest shooting is linked to an ongoing string of extortion-related crime in Metro Vancouver.
Anyone with information about this shooting, including CCTV or dash-cam footage, is asked to call police at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
On Monday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called out to the same neighbourhood after a man was found dead by firefighters when a house burned down.
The fire was reported in the 12700-block of 56th Avenue at about 7 a.m. When Surrey firefighters were able to enter the residence and search for victims, they found the body of a man.
Police did not release the name of the man but Postmedia reporter Kim Bolan identified him as a Brothers Keepers gangster and suspected hitman Naseem Ali Mohammed.
