UK Launches Inquiry, Describes Russia as Most ‘Acute’ Threat

The UK has launched a broad inquiry into Russia after its latest security reviews labelled Moscow the most “acute” threat to British interests. The new Inquiry will assess Russia’s alliances, foreign policy aims, and the conditions for any Ukraine settlement, alongside Russia’s internal governance, economic stability, and civil society. Chair Dame Emily Thornberry cited repeated Russian aggression – from attacks on UK soil to cyber-operations and disinformation – as evidence of a sustained effort by Russia to undermine the international order.
