Man found shot to death outside in Surrey

Staff Sergeant Lindsey Houghton of the Surrey Police Service.

A man was found shot to death outside in a rural part of Surrey on Tuesday.

Surrey Police Service spokesperson Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said police were called just before noon on Jan. 13 to a property on the 3800-block of 176 Street (Pacific Highway). This area is south of Cloverdale.

Houghton said the victim was deceased at the scene and was laying outside.

He said the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team had taken over the case.

A Postmedia source said the shooting was not connected with the death of Brothers Keepers gangster Naseem Ali Mohammed on Monday.

Mohammed, known as Lil Man for his short stature, is believed to have been shot before a house at 12732 56th Ave. was set ablaze.
