Watch live: White House holds briefing amid aftershocks from Signal leak

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt will brief reporters Wednesday afternoon as the Trump administration counters criticism over a recent Signal chat that included a journalist about a military strike in Yemen.

The chat included top Trump administration officials, including national security adviser Mike Waltz, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

The Atlantic Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg was also in the chat group, though the administration has not detailed how exactly his number was included.

While President Trump and the White House have largely brushed it off as a "mistake," the administration is facing backlash over national security implications around the breach.

Goldberg earlier Wednesday released the full Signal messages to the public.

The briefing is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EDT.
