BURSTUS Treasury Dept Drops Sanctions Against Russian Oligarch, Chess Champion Ilyumzhinov
The oligarch is the former head of the World Chess Federation (FIDE) and President of Kalmykia Republic, and has been sanctioned since 2015 for support for the former Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad.
