Police are investigating another extortion-related shooting early Tuesday at a business in the Newton neighbourhood, a week after a business in the same area was sprayed by gunfire.
At about 4:30 a.m., Surrey police members responded to reports of a shooting in the 7200-block of King George Boulevard.
Officers located a business and vehicles that had been damaged by bullets. The business was unoccupied at the time and no one was injured in what investigators believe to be related to the ongoing series of extortion shootings in Metro Vancouver.
Last Wednesday, the Bhojan Sweets and Restaurant at 8077 King George Blvd. was also targeted in an extortion shooting. That business was also damaged by gunshots, but no one was injured.
The Surrey Police Service asks anyone with information or video footage related to any of the shootings to call 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
