Daffodil Dash online auction goes live

The online auction for the Daffodil Dash went live today (April 16)

While the event is returning as an in-person event, there is also the online component to help raise additional funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.

The event was changed to a virtual-only challenge in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and volunteer burnout, but is back in both forms this year.

“We want to encourage people to come out April 26 and we certainly want to encourage people to register themselves and their teams and families and businesses in the Daffodil dash challenge to come out and have some family fun on the 26th at the different stations they’ll be doing… crazy, cool fun games, things like Giant Jenga,” said campaign spokesperson Grant Harris.

The community event is not only a traditional run/walk, but there will also be stations with games and relays.

The in-person portion will start April 26 near the curling rink parking lot. The online auction is live on the Daffodil Dash Facebook page.

There will also be a fundraiser barbecue the day of the event.

There isn’t a specific goal set for the amount of money to be raised; however, past events have raised around $40,000, and organizers would love to be around that amount again.
