The Memphis Police Department reported that two men died after an argument led to gunfire inside the facility at 4:13 p.m. One man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other died at a hospital.

Family identified one victim as Jarmond Johnson, a 25-year-old employee and mountain climber at Memphis Rox. The gym confirmed the death of their team members and announced a temporary closure starting June 30. Police detained one person in connection to the shooting and believe the incident stemmed from an altercation between two men who knew each other.

A 28-year-old man, Farris Haley, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and resisting official detention after allegedly taking a gun during the investigation. Discussions on platforms like Reddit indicate both the suspect and victim were armed. Memphis Rox stated it will not close permanently.
