A man has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of a woman in Surrey in December.
Surrey police said it happened at a home in the 14700-block 108A Avenue in Surrey’s Guildford neighbourhood on Dec. 14.
A second person was taken to hospital with serious stab wounds.
On Thursday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said a 21-year-old has been arrested and charged in the double stabbing.
Gurtaj Singh faces one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. He remains in custody until his next appearance in Surrey provincial court on May 12.
IHIT spokeswoman Sgt. Freda Fong said the investigation into the stabbing, which police described as an isolated incident over a personal dispute, will continue.
“We believe there are additional parties who were involved in this act of violence and we will continue in our pursuit to bring all those responsible to justice for the victims and their families,” she said in a statement.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448 (IHIT).
