BURSTA Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, April 14 th , 2026 at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall, 1027 Aldous Street, Smithers, BC. The following Patron Participation Entertainment Application will be considered at the Public Hearing: LC26-01: With the intent to offer enhanced customer experience, Matraea Trading Limited (Wildfire Restaurant) has submitted a Patron Participation Entertainment (PPE) application to the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB), for 3735 Alfred Avenue.
Approval of the PPE application will allow the business to permit occasional live music and patron participation in the form of dancing, within the establishment, without increasing the currently approved occupancy load or operation hours. The establishment will continue to operate primarily as a family restaurant, with entertainment offered on a limited basis, typically on Friday and/or Saturday evenings, approximately from 8:30–9:00 p.m. to midnight.
PUBLIC INPUT: Anyone who believes they will be affected by the approval of the proposed application is invited to attend the Public Hearing to present verbal submissions to Town Council. Written submissions to be included on the Public Hearing agenda must be received either via email at general@smithers.ca , or mail / hand delivered to the Town Office by 1:00 pm on Monday April 13, 2026. The subject application and relevant background information is available online at www.smithers.ca or at the Town Office (1027 Aldous Street) Monday to Friday, excluding holidays, between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
