The House Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday afternoon will consider tax cuts included in Republicans' "one big, beautiful" reconciliation bill, which seeks to advance President Trump's legislative goals.
The markup comes a day after the committee released a 389-page proposal to extend key provisions of Trump's 2017 cuts — an issue that has divided moderates and more conservative members of the GOP.
The measure also seeks to raise the cap on the state and local tax (SALT) deduction from $10,000 to $30,000 for those making less than $400,000 per year. For wealthier households, the cap is gradually reduced according to income.
The event is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
