Ukraine Launches First War-Risk Insurance Payouts as 4 Kyiv Firms Cut Premium Costs by Two-Thirds
Ukraine’s Export Credit Agency has issued its first payouts under a state war-risk insurance subsidy program, with four Kyiv businesses sharing Hr. 6.8 million ($153,500) in compensation. The program, established under Cabinet Resolution No. 1541, reduces effective insurance costs from 4.24% to 1.19%. The ECA has received 40 applications from companies across multiple regions, covering assets worth Hr. 4.3 billion. The initiative runs alongside an EBRD pilot mechanism and growing private-sector war insurance offerings.
