Russia Hails Drop in Beer Imports From ‘Unfriendly Countries’

Russia said beer imports from “unfriendly countries” fell 36% year on year, while beer consumption rose slightly to 3.1 billion liters in the first half of 2026, state media RIA Novosti reported. The research center behind the data noted, however, that the figures cover all countries outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), not just those Russia classifies as “unfriendly.”
