Two individuals and a corporation are facing charges following an 18-month unlawful hunting investigation in northern B.C.
BC Conservation Officer Service (BCCOS) has concluded its investigation into alleged illegal hunting activities within the Gladys Lake Ecological Reserve, located in the Eaglenest Range of the Spatsizi Plateau in north-central B.C.
According to a BCCOS social media post, on Jan. 29, charges on various offences were laid against two individuals and one corporation under the Wildlife Act and Ecological Reserve Regulations.
Spatsizi River Outfitters Ltd. is facing 10 counts, including three under the Ecological Reserve regulations and seven under the Wildlife Act and regulations.
Michael Gilson is facing 10 counts, including three under the Ecological Reserve regulations and seven under the Wildlife Act and regulations.
Shawn Gilson is facing 18 counts, including three under the Ecological Reserve regulations and 15 under the Wildlife Act and regulations.
The first court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 25, 2026, at the Williams Lake Provincial Court.
