Two youths were stabbed in Langley on Friday in an incident RCMP say was targeted — a day after another man was found with knife wounds in another incident.
Police found two youths in the 27200 block of Fraser Highway with stab wounds that were serious but non‑life‑threatening. The two were transported to hospitals.
The assault came less than 24 hours after a 46-year-old man was found by RCMP in the 6400 block of 199 Street with a serious stab wound. He was also taken to hospital.
“We recognize that two stabbing incidents occurring on consecutive days are understandably concerning for the community,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. “Police can confirm that today’s incident is not related to the stabbing reported yesterday. Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.”
The Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team was deployed to assist the Langley RCMP in Thursday’s incident, though police said they believed it was a targeted attack. A 36-year-old Langley man was arrested in Friday in relation to the incident and remains in custody.
