Peter Dutton accused of blocking act of bipartisanship after Melbourne synagogue fire

Labor MP Josh Burns says opposition leader prevented James Paterson from delivering his statement

Peter Dutton intervened to disrupt a display of political bipartisanship after the Melbourne synagogue arson attack, Labor MP Josh Burns has claimed, alleging the opposition leader blocked a Liberal senator from delivering a statement Burns was unable to give himself due to illness.

Burns, who is Jewish and represents the seat containing the Adass Israel synagogue, accused Dutton of playing “partisan games” after the fire, which is being treated as an act of terrorism.
