A driver has been arrested following a three-vehicle collision Sunday morning (May 24) in Kelowna.
Allegedly, the driver attempted to flee the scene following the crash near the corner of Cadder Avenue and Richter Street at approximately 9:15 a.m.
RCMP tell Black Press Media that the driver of the vehicle, who is believed to be responsible for the crash, was taken into custody following their attempt to flee.
Upon arrival, RCMP learned that one occupant was trapped inside their car, but was later extracted by members of the Kelowna Fire Department (KFD).
One person involved in the crash was taken to the hospital, but is expected to make a full recovery.
“All three vehicles sustained significant damage because of the collision. Speed and impairment are being investigated as potential factors that may have contributed to the crash,” said Media Relations Officer Cpl. Steven Lang.
The investigation is now being led by the Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section.
