Independent investigators are in Burnaby Wednesday morning after what’s believed to be a police-involved fatal shooting late Tuesday night.
Early Wednesday, a spokesperson for the Independent Investigations Office of B.C. (IIO) confirmed officers were called out to an incident on Oxford Street where one person died.
The IIO has not confirmed reports that a Burnaby RCMP officer fatally shot a woman but said more information would be released later in the day.
Burnaby RCMP would not comment on the shooting and deferred inquiries to the RCMP’s E Division headquarters.
