BURSTLaura Rogora just finished up a sport climbing trip to Gorges du Loup, France. Her visit was only six climbing days long, but she sent an unbelievable string of climbs. Over the course of her trip she redpointed one 5.15a, two 5.14d/15a’s, one 5.14d, one 5.14c/d, two 5.14c’s, and one 5.14b. She also onsighted a 5.14c and a 5.14b.
Her onsight of Ultimate Sacrifice 5.14c was undoubtedly the highlight of her trip. With the ascent, she became the first woman in history to onsight the grade of 5.14c. The top onsight grade between men and women is now only one grade apart. Rogora joins a small handful of climbers who have onsighted 5.14c: Adam Ondra, Alex Megos, Patxi Usobiaga, Ramón Julián Puigblanque, Magnus Midtbø, and Domen Škofic. Only two climbers have onsighted 5.14d: Adam Ondra and Alex Megos.
“Now it’s time to come back to the training routine for the last part of the season,” said Rogora via Instagram.
Rogora’s Gorges du Loup trip once again proves she the best female outdoor climber in the world, with an unprecedented resume. Whenever she turns her sights from comp climbing and training to real rock, she takes down 5.14d and 5.15a routes at lightning speed and regularly onsights and flashes routes in the 5.14 range. In October 2021, she achieved her hardest redpoint to date, making the second ascent of Stefano Ghisolfi’s Erebor 5.15b/c, which has since been downgraded to 5.15b. A year prior she sent Ali Hulk 5.15b. She’s onsighted multiple 5.14b routes, including Ajo Crudo, Spanish Caravan, and American Hustle.
Before this Gorges du Loup trip, Rogora’s visit to Mišja Peč in Slovenia in late 2024/early 2025 held the spot for her most impressive trip. Over the course of a week – with no rest days – she redpointed Sanjski Par Extension 5.14d, Xaxid Hostel 5.14d (on her sixth go), Martin Krpan 5.14d (on her fourth go), Človek Ne Jezi Se L2 5.14c (on her second go), Hysteria 5.14c (on her third go), and Sanjski Par 5.14c. She also clipped the chains on two 5.14b routes, Strelovod and Talk is Cheap.
In the three months prior to her Mišja Peč trip, she went on an on-and-off again sport climbing tear across Europe, racking up a mind-blowing tick list of female first ascents and repeats. She made the FFA of Goldrake 5.14d/15a in Cornalba, Italy at the end of September, and then went on to redpoint at least two 5.15a’s, six 5.14d’s, and four 5.14c’s. She also onsighted 5.14b and flashed a couple 5.14a’s and 5.14b’s.
