Vancouver police search for Range Rover after fatal DTES hit and run

Vancouver police are asking the public for information in finding a white Range Rover involved in a fatal hit-and-run in the Downtown Eastside on Dec. 7, 2025.

Police are searching for a white Range Rover involved in a fatal hit and run in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside last month, one of three recent hit and runs in the city that remain unsolved.

A man was crossing East Hastings at Dunlevy Avenue at 7:23 p.m. on Dec. 7 when he was hit by two westbound vehicles, said Vancouver police.

One driver remained at the scene, but the other sped away.

On Tuesday, police released a photograph and videos of a white Range Rover Evoque that the police said failed to remain at the scene after the collision.

Vancouver police released a video of a white Range Rover Evoque travelling at the intersection of Main and Hastings streets.

“This vehicle likely sustained damage to the front fender or passenger-side mirror as a result of striking the pedestrian,” said VPD spokeswoman Const. Megan Lui in a statement. “If you’ve seen the vehicle, or know the whereabouts of the driver, we’re asking you to please call our investigators.”

The incident was one of three unsolved hit and runs that occurred in Vancouver over the last seven weeks.

On Nov. 27, 2025, a 40-year-old man was hit by a light-grey or silver 2010 to 2012 Acura RDX near Graveley Street and Slocan Avenue between 7 and 7:10 p.m. The man was dragged by the vehicle and is in stable condition at hospital, with life-altering injuries.

In the third instance, an 81-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle while crossing Rupert Street and Euclid Avenue on Dec. 22, 2025, and died.

The driver fled and was last seen heading north on Rupert Street. Police have found and seized a vehicle involved in the crash, but are seeking more information.

The three collisions aren’t related, police said.

Anyone with information about any of the hit and runs is asked to call VPD’s collision investigators at 604-717-3012.
