Most disapprove of Trump's job as president ahead of 100-day mark: Poll

A majority of Americans disapprove of President Trump’s job performance ahead of his 100th day in office this term, according to a poll released Sunday.

Fifty-five percent of Americans surveyed in an NBC News Stay Tuned Poll said they disapprove of Trump's handling of his first few months back in office, including 42 percent who "strongly disapprove" and 13 percent who "somewhat disapprove."

Meanwhile, of the 45 percent of respondents who said they approve of Trump's job performance, 26 percent said they "strongly approve" and 19 percent said they "somewhat approve."

The president is set to go to Michigan for a rally Tuesday where he plans to mark his first 100 days back in office.

“President Trump is excited to return to the great state of Michigan next Tuesday, where he will rally in Macomb County to celebrate the FIRST 100 DAYS!” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote in a post on the social platform X last week.

Trump’s return to the White House has been marked by broad and frenetic action on a wide range of issues, with his moves on immigration and trade sparking some of the fiercest blowback thus far.

When asked if they “approve or disapprove of the way Donald Trump is handling the issue of border security and immigration,” 49 percent in the NBC News poll said they approve, while 51 percent said they disapprove.

Meanwhile, 61 percent of respondents said they disapprove of Trump's handling of trade and tariffs, while 39 percent approve of his efforts. Similarly, 60 percent said they oppose how Trump is handling inflation and the cost of living, while 40 percent said they support his handling of the issues.

The NBC News Stay Tuned Poll of 19,682 U.S. adults was conducted April 11-20 and has an overall estimated margin of error of 2.2 percentage points.
