Transit alert: Police incident closes Vancouver's Waterfront Station

TransLink is warning riders that a police incident led to the closure of Waterfront Station and forced suspension of transit service on SeaBus, Expo Line and Canada Line.

Starting at about 10:40 a.m. Sunday, the unspecified incident led to major disruptions for travellers.

A bus bridge had to be put in place for those heading between Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver and Waterfront and Burrard stations in downtown Vancouver.

Canada Line is operating between Vancouver City Centre station and Richmond-Brighouse.

Bus detours are in place for 50 False Creek-Granville Island, 50 Waterfront Station, 7 Nanaimo Station and 4 Powell.

SkyTrains are terminating at Burrard Station and turning back toward King George or Production Way-University.

SkyTrain service on the Millennium Line is unaffected.
