B.C. Conservatives remove Vancouver candidate after alleged Hitler posts

The B.C. Conservative Party announced it is dropping Vancouver-Strathcona candidate Jordan McIntosh after the NDP’s Vancouver-Quilchena candidate Callista Ryan accused him of posting online about Hitler and the Holocaust using an anonymous account under the moniker “DeathNight.”

Ryan posted screenshots of the posts on Thursday (Oct. 15), in which DeathNight is shown saying that Hitler did not specifically hate Jews, and that “Lots of Jews died because there were LOTS in Europe, NOT because he hated them specifically.”

About an hour after Ryan posted the screenshots, the Conservative Party took action.

“The candidate in Vancouver-Strathcona is no longer a Conservative candidate,” the party said in a post in response to Ryan. “If elected, he will not sit in caucus.”

This is the second candidate dumped from the party’s slate after being connected to online activity deemed racist or derogatory. Victoria-Beacon Hill candidate Joachim Agou was booted on Oct. 8 after posts surfaced supporting a driver who plowed through a pro-Palestine protest in Switzerland in 2025.

This also comes one day after a debate in which Conservative Leader Lorne Doerkson highlighted accusations of antisemitism within the NDP caucus stemming from the departure of former cabinet minister Selena Robinson in 2024.

Today in BC has reached out to the Conservative Party and McIntosh for comment.
