President Trump on Friday afternoon will meet separately with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as the nations are expected to sign a peace deal to end decades of conflict.
Trump will sign bilateral agreements with both nations to boost investment in the U.S. — just a day after his latest tariff rollout went into effect on dozens of trading partners.
Multiple news outlets reported that the peace agreement was centered on establishing a transit corridor across the region.
The president will first host Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at 2:35 p.m. EDT and then Trump will welcome Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev to the White House at 3:15 p.m. EDT.
The three will join together around 4:15 p.m. EDT for the expected peace deal signing ceremony.
