Will Bosi Sends “Possibly the Best Boulder I’ve Ever Tried” with New V16

Will Bosi has made the first ascent of Pôr do Sol V16 in Sintra, Portugal, a problem he has been trying on and off since at least spring 2024. The boulder features a series of dynamic moves across standout holds.

Bosi announced his send on Instagram, saying, “The perfect start to the year! Sending possibly the best boulder I’ve ever tried. This line was one of the first projects I saw in Portugal and immediately blew my mind that it hadn’t been climbed.” A few days before completing Pôr do Sol, he made the first ascent of T-Rex, which was another old project in Sintra, at V13.

Bosi is one of the world’s leading boulderers, with five V17 ascents to his name. In October 2022, he climbed his first of the grade, making the third ascent of Shawn Raboutou’s Alphane. Less than six months later, he added his second V17 with a repeat of Nalle Hukkataival’s Burden of Dreams. In August 2023, he made his first V17 first ascent, opening Realms of Tor’ment at Raven Tor in the U.K. He went on to make the second ascent of Daniel Woods’ Return of the Sleepwalker in Red Rock, Nevada, in February 2024, before surprising many in October with a rapid second ascent of Aidan Roberts’ Spots of Time.

At the end of 2025, Bosi shared his process while projecting Adam Ondra’s Silence 5.15d in the Hanshelleren Cave in Flatanger, Norway. Although he did not send on that trip, he later said he plans to return later this year. In February last year, he completed the second ascent of Stefano Ghisolfi’s Excalibur 5.15c, his hardest sport line to date.

Bosi shared some of his sends from 2024, as well as some of his early sessions on his new V16 in a video below. He’s also one of several climbers on our list of climbers who’ve climbed hard 5.15, be sure to check it out here.
