Easter 2025: Which stores, restaurants will be open?

Whether you forgot to grab the eggs for the Easter hunt or need a bite to eat, several stores and restaurants will be open on Easter Sunday.

This year, Easter falls on April 20, one of the latest possible dates for the Christian festivity.

Many retailers and restaurants have already confirmed they’ll be closed for Easter Sunday.

The companies below, however, will be open. It’s worth noting that while your local establishment may be open for Easter Sunday, they may be operating with shortened hours or without certain services, like pharmacies. It’s best to call ahead or check online before heading out to any business on Easter.

Stores

Ace Hardware: Because Ace Hardware stores are independently owned and operated, hours may vary by location. It’s best to check ahead before running to your local Ace Hardware.

Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops: Both stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Easter Sunday, a spokesperson confirmed to Nexstar. There are some exceptions; it's best to check your local store's hours online.

CVS: While stores and pharmacies will be open on Easter, some may have limited hours, a CVS spokesperson previously told Nexstar.

Dollar General: A company spokesperson tells Nexstar that Dollar General stores will be open for regular hours on Easter Sunday.

Dollar Tree: Stores will be open for their regular hours on Easter, a company spokesperson tells Nexstar.

Home Depot: A company spokesperson confirmed Home Depot stores will be open with limited hours on Easter Sunday. Hours can be confirmed online

IKEA: Easter is not a holiday in which all IKEA stores close but the retailer advises confirming your location’s hours before visiting.

Kroger: Most of the Kroger family of stores will be open for their normal hours on Easter Sunday, the company confirmed to Nexstar.

PetSmart: Forgot an Easter gift for your pet? You’ll be able to visit your local PetSmart between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., a company spokesperson confirmed.

REI: Your local REI store will be open on Easter Sunday, but only from noon to 6 p.m., the company confirmed to Nexstar.

Sprouts: Stores will not be closed for Easter Sunday, per the Sprouts website.

Trader Joe’s: All but one Trader Joe’s store — located in Portland, Maine — will be open for regular hours on Easter.

Walgreens: While stores will be open on Easter, your Walgreens pharmacy may be closed or only open for a few hours. Check your location’s hours online.

Walmart: Stores will be open for the regular hours, according to a Walmart spokesperson.

Wegmans: While stores will be open for Easter, Wegmans says its pharmacies may be operating under limited hours.

Whole Foods: Most Whole Foods stores will be open for Easter, the company says online, but you’ll want to check ahead for more details on modified hours.

Restaurants

Applebee’s: A company spokesperson previously told Nexstar that some Applebee’s locations will be open for Easter, but hours may vary. You can check those online before heading out.

Burger King: Because Burger King restaurants are individually owned, hours may vary on Easter — you can check your location’s hours online or in the BK app.

Denny’s: The always-open restaurant will still be open on Easter Sunday. 

Domino’s: Because locations are independently owned, Domino’s restaurants may or may not be open for their regular hours on Easter. You can confirm those hours online.

Dunkin’: Your nearest Dunkin’ will likely be open for Easter, but a company spokesperson recommends checking your location’s hours online or in the mobile app.

Firehouse Subs: These restaurants are largely individually owned, meaning your local Firehouse Subs location may have different hours for Easter. You can check those hours online.

Jack in the Box: While most Jack in the Box locations are always open, hours may vary for Easter, a company spokesperson tells Nexstar. You can find local hours online

Jersey Mike’s: Easter hours may vary by location, Jersey Mike’s says online, reminding you that you can contact your store for more information.

McDonald’s: Because restaurants are largely independently owned and operated, hours may vary on Easter at your local McDonald’s. You can check your location’s hours online.

Noodles: Select Noodles locations will be open; you can check store’s hours here.

Olive Garden: Your Olive Garden restaurant will be open for Easter, but hours may vary, according to the company.

Panera Bread: Stores will be open for Easter, Panera Bread says online, but hours may vary. The company recommends starting an online order to see your location’s specific hours.

Red Lobster: The company previously told Nexstar that Red Lobster locations will be open for normal hours on Easter. 

Ruth’s Chris Steak House: Most Ruth’s Chris Steak House locations will be open for Easter; you can verify hours online.

Sonic: Because most locations are independently owned, you’ll want to check ahead before heading to your local Sonic on Easter Sunday.

Starbucks: Hours may vary, so check online before heading out to Starbucks on Easter.

Taco Bell: Restaurants will be open for Easter, Taco Bell sells on its website.

Waffle House: The always-open Waffles House will be open for the Easter holiday. 

Wendy’s: Many Wendy’s locations will be open for Easter; you can check hours online.
