Baltic Nations Form Task Force Against Hybrid Threats
German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt hosted counterparts from nine European nations to discuss escalating hybrid warfare in the Baltic Sea region. The coalition agreed to establish a joint task force to protect critical infrastructure and improve drone defense through joint exercises following recent incidents, including a drone attack at Leipzig airport and severed sub-sea cables. The nations are also lobbying to prioritize defense spending in the EU’s upcoming seven-year budget negotiations, currently led by the Irish Council Presidency.
