A person has been arrested on a charge of conspiracy to murder persons in a foreign country in connection with the fatal Tumbler Ridge mass shooting, U.S. officials say.

The suspect is a 30-year-old from western Washington State, according to a news release from acting United States Attorney Charles Neil Floyd.

U.S. law enforcement officials and RCMP officials will be holding a news conference at noon to provide more information.
