Will Bosi Climbs New V15 in Switzerland

Will Bosi, 26, has made the first ascent of Kyanite V15 in Valle Bavona, Switzerland. The problem was an old Dave Graham project, which Bosi did in just two sessions.

Bosi was being filmed by Giuliano Cameroni during his two week visit, where he sent six lines from V14 to V16. At the start of the month, Bosi made the first ascent of Brain Rot V16 at Magic Wood, Switzerland.

On 8a.nu, Bosi said, ”Kyanite is a left-hand version of Axinite V14. You start in the same place and climb the initial moves of Axinite before breaking out left through a very steep roof. It is about double the moves of Axinite before returning you to the top-out of the original line, but not before a desperate Gaston deadpoint move to rejoin the original line.”

Bosi’s has four V17 repeats to his name. In October 2022, he climbed his first of the grade, making the third ascent of Shawn Raboutou’s Alphane. Less than six months later, he bagged his second V17 with his second ascent of Nalle Hukkataival’s Burden of Dreams. In February last year, he made the second ascent of Daniel Woods’ Return of the Sleepwalker in Red Rock, Nevada. In October, he surprised many with a rapid second ascent of Aidan Roberts’ Spots of Time. In February this year, he made the second ascent of Stefano Ghisolfi’s Excalibur. With the ascent, he joined Jakob Schubert and Sean Bailey in the very small group of climbers who have climbed both 5.15c and V17.
