Italy has reduced visa processing time for Russian nationals from 60 days to 45 days as the EU weighs visa restrictions amid rising hybrid threats from Moscow. Italy has reportedly opposed the restrictions, as data estimates that Rome issued 160,000 tourist visas to Russians in 2025, when the bloc issued a record 477,878 tourist visas to Russians.
