Spy Hub Allegations Surround Closure of Russian Consulate in Bonn

The closure of the Russian consulate in Bonn is linked to its alleged role as a coordination center for Russian intelligence operations in Western Europe, according to a report by Bild. The German government ordered approximately 60 Russian diplomats, including Consul General Oleg Krasnitsky, to leave the country by Sept. 18. Sources estimate that roughly a third of the staff are affiliated with Russian intelligence services and allege the facility supported hybrid operations against Benelux countries, EU institutions, and NATO headquarters.
