Nothing to link Banbury gang-rape to migrant accommodation, police say

Thames Valley police say any speculation is unfounded and unhelpful as they investigate weekend attack

There is currently no information to link the rape of a woman by a group of men in a Banbury churchyard to migrant accommodation, police have said as they attempt to quell online speculation.

The woman, who is in her 30s, was raped by a group of men in the grounds of St Mary’s church and the surrounding area of Banbury town centre overnight on Saturday, Thames Valley police said.
