Watch live: Zeldin testifies before House on EPA budget

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin will testify before a House Appropriations subcommittee Thursday morning on the agency's fiscal 2026 budget request.

Zeldin, since being confirmed to helm the agency, has supported President Trump's efforts to claw back Biden-era climate policies and cut down on spending. The administration's request includes an increase in funding for "critical drinking water." On Wednesday, the EPA also announced it would pare down federal limits of "forever chemicals."

The hearing also comes as House Republicans seek to advance Trump's agenda, which would slash a number of green programs and regulations while bolstering fossil fuels.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
