10 Metro Vancouver eateries land on Canada’s Top 100 Romantic Restaurants list

Le Crocodile is among the top 10 most romantic restaurants in Vancouver, according to a recent list by OpenTable.

Deciding where to take a loved one this Valentine’s Day just got a little easier.

OpenTable recently revealed its latest list of Canada’s Top 100 Romantic Restaurants, and 10 of them are in and around Vancouver. The restaurants named include:

The online restaurant reservation platform’s ranking was put together after analyzing more than 900,000 reviews from diners, along with ratings, demand for reservations and use of the tag “romantic” related to diner feedback and reviews.

Recent data from OpenTable reveals 51 per cent of Vancouverites say they plan to dine out at a restaurant to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year.

According to Matt Davis, Senior Director at OpenTable Canada, more Canadians plan to embrace a “cultural shift” away from celebrating solely romantic relationships on Valentine’s Day in favour of feting all types of connections.

“Gen Z is really driving this change, with 59 per cent planning a Galentine’s or Palentine’s Day celebration, 22 per cent above the national average, and 65 per cent of them looking to mark the celebrations by dining out,” Davis said in a news release.

The 10 Vancouver-area restaurants weren’t the only B.C. eateries names to the top 100 list. Additional eateries in the province to make an appearance not he romantic rating include:

  • Finn’s Seafood, Chops and Cocktails, Victoria
  • Rimrock Cafe, Whistler
