
A man has “potentially life-threatening” injuries after being hit by a transit bus in Surrey.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, the Surrey Police Service was called about a seriously injured pedestrian at the intersection of 128th Street and 96th Avenue.
When officers arrived, the man was being treated by B.C. Emergency Health Service paramedics. A Coast Mountain bus driver was on scene.
The adult male who had been hit was taken to hospital with “critical, potentially life-threatening injuries,” said Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton in a statement.
The cause of the crash is not known. The intersection was closed for several hours overnight but has reopened.
