Romania F-16s Down Two Drones Over Black Sea Waters
Romanian F-16 fighter jets intercepted and shot down two unidentified drones over Romanian territorial waters in the Black Sea on Oct. 17. The incident follows kinetic drone strikes on two chemical tankers near the Sulina Canal that left seven sailors missing, alongside a series of attacks on commercial cargo ships off Romania and Bulgaria that caused 23 casualties over 10 days. The aerial engagement coincided with recurring drone crashes across neighboring Moldova, where five Russian-origin drones fell within 17 hours.
