American comedian Dave Chappelle will tell jokes in Vancouver in just over two weeks — on Sunday, Dec. 7, at Rogers Arena.
Live Nation Entertainment announced the show Wednesday (Nov. 19), with tickets on sale at noon via ticketmaster.ca.
The controversial Chappelle, known for fearless social commentary and his no-holds-barred approach, will do a December tour that includes arena shows in Calgary, Edmonton, Portland, Vancouver and Seattle.
The performances promise “the incisive humor, cultural perspective, and unmistakable stage presence that have cemented his status as one of the greatest comedians of all time,” Live Nation announced.
This event will be a phone-free experience. Use of phones, smart watches, and accessories will not be permitted in the performance space. Upon arrival at the venue, all phones, smart watches, and accessories will be secured in individual Yondr pouches that will be opened at the end of the event.
Guests maintain possession of their devices at all times and can access them throughout the event only in designated Phone Use Areas within the venue. All devices will be re-secured in Yondr pouches before returning to the performance space. Anyone seen using a device (phone, smart watch, or accessories) during the performance will be escorted out of the venue by security, Live Nation warns.
