Rescue teams search for survivors from flight believed to have had 22 people onboard, state governor says
At least eight people have died after a hot-air balloon with an estimated 22 people on board crashed in Brazil’s southern state of Santa Catarina, the state governor said.
Jorginho Mello said in a post on X on Saturday morning that the local community was “shocked” by the incident, which he said happened in Praia Grande. Two people were confirmed to have survived.
