Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) posted a clip from the popular comedy "Stepbrothers" to mock President Trump, Republicans and Fox News over the latest tariffs on foreign nations that were announced this week.
The clip begins with actor Adam Scott's character, labeled in the video as a "Gen X Democrat" saying "I gotta say I could have called this one."
Will Ferrell's character, labeled a "Trump voter" tears up and asks, "is it our fault?"
Maureen Steenburgen, who plays Ferrell's mother and in the clip is labeled "Fox News" assures Ferrell "it is not your fault."
"Let's cut the sh--" Richard Jenkins, who plays Ferrell's father and is labeled in the video an "anti Trump Republican" interjects saying "it is definitely your fault. It is absolutely 150 percent your fault."
The scene in the movie divulges into yelling, crying and chaos before John C. Reilly, also labeled a "Trump voter" eventually vomits.
"Who did this," Kinzinger wrote has he posted the clip, which plays under the banner "As Trump destroys the economy."
A former member of the House panel investigation the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, Kinzinger is among Trump's sharpest critics. He frequently uses cable news hits and social media posts to blast the president and his allies.
The joke comes as stock market dips and warnings about surging prices have characterized the days following Trump's reciprocal tariff announcement, which sets a 10 percent baseline tax on goods imported into the U.S. from nearly all foreign trading partners.
