
Members of B.C.’s Independent Investigations Office have been sent to Agassiz after a person was shot during an interaction with police on Thursday night.
In an email Friday morning, Simon Druker, a spokesperson for the IIO, confirmed that one person was injured but did not disclose any other details. The person’s condition is not known.
The IIO, a civilian-led police agency that investigates incidents of death or serious harm that may involve a a police officer, is expected to release more information later Friday.
Postmedia has requested information about the shooting from RCMP and B.C. Emergency Health Services.
