The House Energy and Commerce Committee on Tuesday will hold a markup of the GOP's budget reconciliation plan as Republicans race to pass President Trump's legislative agenda.
The legislation, introduced late Sunday, would slash Medicaid spending significantly by imposing new restrictions on beneficiaries such as work requirements and more frequent eligibility checks. In its plan, the committee requested $880 billion in cuts to the program.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. EDT.
