BURSTLyn Hall has been appointed chair of Northern Health’s board of directors, succeeding Colleen Nyce after nine years in the role.
According to a press release by Northern Health, Hall’s appointment was made by B.C. Minister of Health Ravi Kahlon. Hall joined the NH board in May 2025 and is serving a term that runs until April 2029.
Nyce has served on the board since 2015, including nine years as chair. NH said she will remain on the board until the end of 2026 to help with the leadership transition.
She was also appointed to the board of the Provincial Health Services Authority.
“I’d like to thank Colleen for her many years of service and for her continued commitment to public health care in British Columbia through her ongoing support of both Northern Health and PHSA,” Minister Kahlon said.
“I’d also like to congratulate and thank Lyn Hall for stepping into this important leadership role. Lyn has provided community leadership for many years in northern British Columbia, and I am pleased he is willing to bring that experience and commitment to Northern Health.”
During Nyce’s time as chair, the health authority faced the COVID-19 pandemic, workforce and service delivery pressures, and a period of significant capital investment and infrastructure development across northern British Columbia.
“Northern Health’s greatest strength is the people who provide care and support services across the North every day,” Nyce said.
“It has been an honour to work alongside dedicated board members, staff, physicians, volunteers, Indigenous partners and communities over the past 11 years. I know Lyn shares that commitment to the North, and I am delighted to welcome him as chair and help ensure a seamless transition.”
Hall is a longtime Prince George resident with decades of elected and volunteer leadership experience.
His previous roles include school trustee, city councillor, mayor of Prince George, regional district director and board member for several regional and provincial organizations.
According to the release, as chair, Hall will work with NH’s board and leadership to support health services across northern British Columbia and advance the organization’s strategic priorities.

“Northern Health plays a vital role in the lives of people across northern B.C., and I look forward to working with my fellow board members, health-care teams, Indigenous partners, communities, and leadership to support the delivery of exceptional care throughout the region.”
