Prince George RCMP are investigating an incident after shots were fired in the College Heights area early Friday morning, Sept. 4.
Police responded to the 7100 block of Barbara Place around 5:30 a.m., after a member of the public reported hearing five to six gunshots in the area.
The same witness also reported a white SUV leaving the neighbourhood at a high speed shortly afterward. Investigators are working to determine if the two incidents are related.
“We have confirmed there was gun fire in the area, and our investigators are working to determine the full circumstances of the event, ” said Prince George media relations officer Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.
The investigation remains ongoing and the police are asking residents in the surrounding blocks to report anything unusual they might have witnessed around the time of the incident.
“We are asking for those in the adjacent blocks to check their surveillance systems and dash cameras for any suspicious or out-of-the-ordinary movement and report it to the police if found,” states,” Cooper added.
No injuries have been reported, the RCMP confirmed in a news statement.
