BURSTThe BC SPCA Lottery for Animals in Need has officially launched its biggest 50/50 campaign in history, promising a pot of up to $1.9 million.
Kicking off on July 21, animal lovers can buy a 50/50 ticket for $15, three for $40 or six for $60.
“When you choose to enter, your compassionate purchase is like a warm embrace for an animal facing their hardest days,” said Alina Wilson, BC SPCA senior officer.
“We’re deeply grateful for the support from across B.C. each year, and we can’t wait to see which lucky winner takes home the prize this time! Past winners have come from across the province, including Port Moody, Lady Smith and Kelowna.”
Last year’s winner from Port Moody took home $800,000.
With help from last year’s lottery, the BC SPCA said they assisted more than 135,000 animals in 2025.
“Every caring lottery purchase supports vital services for animals in need, from providing critical medical care to supporting animal protection investigations and keeping pets together with their families through critical services like pet food banks,” said BC SPCA in a written statement.
Tickets for the 50/50 are available until Sept. 18.
